4 Ways to Style Natural Hair for Work

I don’t about anyone else, but one of the first things that I think about when I am getting ready for work is “how am I going to do my hair?” It never fails. It’s either I have no idea what I am going to do, or my initial hairstyle has failed, and I need a back up plan. Well never fear I have gone through a little trail and error with this head of mine and I feel as though I have found my four go to work styles. Let’s knock one thing off your get ready check list with these 4 ways to style natural hair for work.

PUFF. Ah, the puff. A classic. Also known as a ponytail for my straight-haired friends. Doing a puff is simple and easy. Your hair is done in no time. It’s up, it’s out of the way, and you’re on your way. I recently got a puff ring. It makes it so much easier and you don’t have to worry about stretching out your hair bands. Hence, a game changer!

TWISTS. A set of twists is always fun and easy. You can style them in a plethora of different ways. You can put them in a bun, a ponytail, or pin them up if you like. You’ll look good and profess. With twists you can have a little fun with your hair and feel good knowing that it is protected. You can rock a set of twists for a good little while. The best part is, you can get up in the morning knowing that there really isn’t anything that has to be done to your hair. What a relief!

HALF UP/HALF DOWN. This style is pretty self-explanatory. Half your hair is up and the other is down. That’s it. The curl pattern in the front of my hair is looser than the rest and takes longer to dry. Sometimes I will get up to do my hair and the front is still damp. So that is where this style comes into play. I pull half up in a top knot and leave the rest down. It’s quick, it’s easy, and I still get to work on time. Can’t beat that!

CROWN BRAIDS. I definitely do this style majority of the time. The reason is that when I do my hair at the beginning of the week, as long as I tie it up at night, I don’t have to do it again for the rest of the workweek. I love styles like this. I like cutting extra steps out in the morning. It frees me up to enjoy my coffee before hopping in the car. It’s just two braids on either side of my head. I think this style has a few names.

I am a busy girl. So, as much as I love my hair, I just don’t have that much time to do it. So, these are my favorite easy 4 ways to style natural hair for work. I look decent and it doesn’t take me an hour. Sounds like a win to me. How do you wear your hair to work? Do you have more time to do it? What’s your thought process?
