With so many of us in self-isolation right now, it’s easy to start to miss people. Since there are so many ways to keep in contact nowadays, we can still see each other. So, we can keep a safe distance and still interact with our loved ones. These are my favorite 4 ways to stay connected in self-isolation.
1.GROUP TEXT. I used to hate group chats. They always seemed so annoying to me. However, they come in handy in times like these. It is so much easier to gather like-minded individuals in one place, rather than text them all individually. It’s less time consuming and everybody gets in on the convo. It really does help the time go by also. With all the different minds coming in on one conversation, you could talk for a while. Everyone has a different take and spark different ideas. Now is a great time to gather friends in a group text and have a little chat.
2.VIDEO CALLS. I love video calls more than ever. Facetime has really been a friend to me and my family. I miss them so very much and video calling them has been the next best thing. My family lives 100miles away from me. Due to everything going on in the world, we aren’t doing any traveling. Whenever I check-in, I like to Facetime. I can see everybody’s beautiful face and ensure their safety.
3.SOCIAL MEDIA. People are spending a crazy amount of time inside taking pictures and I’m loving it. Particularly all the different outfits I’m seeing on Instagram. I am loving all the art that is coming out of the boredom. Instagram is full of creators with nothing else to do. All my favorite food and fashion blogs are posting about all the things they’re making. It’s inspirational. As I mentioned in 4 ways to create space during isolation, I really want to make this a blog you’ll keep coming back to. Seeing fellow bloggers working hard and taking advantage of this time has really pushed me.
4.APPLE MUSIC. I love this Apple Music and have been using it a lot more lately. I’m always listening to or downloading something throughout the day. I never really paid much attention to the following feature on the app. However, I do follow a few of my contacts and have noticed them listening to my stuff. Or at least some of the same stuff I listen to. I feel so connected when I see that someone was listening to the same thing as me recently. It’s as if we were kind of in sync.
These 4 ways to stay connected in self-isolation, are pretty basic compared to all you can do with technology. Keeping in contact is very important and these are my favorite ways to do it. How do you do it? Are these some of your favs too? What’s your thought process?
Great tips. Just putting on music in the morning that makes me happy can have a huge impact on my mood for the day 🙂
Thanks a lot! I agree with you. It can make the day a bit brighter!
I think it’s very interesting how people are using technology (more than just texts) to stay connected. I’ve always found that since texting became a thing, people have stopped calling each other as much, but now everyone is chatting through Facetime and others video apps and actually connecting more than they might have before.
Agreed! You make some great points there. It really does seem like me are more connected now than before all the tech.
