Had a rough day? Have you tried having a cup of tea? There are many different types of teas, all with different benefits. There is probably a tea for whatever ails you. Many people take different herbs in tea form to help with the different things going on it their body. Today we are going through some of my top 4 staple worthy calming teas you should know. These are my go-to teas for relaxing after a stressful day.

PEPPERMINT. Peppermint tea is most def a fav. It makes me think of the holidays and my grandma Dorothy. She used to keep these thick peppermint logs in her purse and every Sunday that I spent with her, we would go to church and she would give me one. She is gone now, but the smell of peppermint always makes me think of her. Besides giving me sweet memories of my grandma pepper tea has many benefits. From helping with your cold/flu symptoms to aiding a toothache. This tea is where its at. It also helps in reducing stress. Giving you calming relief from a stressful day.

VALERIAN ROOT. I don’t think I’m into the smell or taste of Valerian root, but I love the effects. That’s why it is still a staple. Valerian root is nature’s muscle relaxer or at least that is what I call it. It helps to calm the mind and improve your quality of sleep. If you are having a hard time relaxing and falling asleep try a little of this. You can have a nice steamy cup of the tea or have a couple Valerian root capsules.

CHAMOMILE. I started drinking chamomile tea because I heard that it was comforting. Upon, doing some research I found that this tea helps with relaxation and insomnia. Apparently, this tea was popular for this and of course I was late to the party. Nothing new there! I’m not saying that it solved my problems, but it did help. Two cups of chamomile and a couple of journal entries later I felt a bit better. I concluded that it was what it was, I really had to pee, and I was tired! I was finally tired and got some sleep. FINALLY! It gave me a little comfort and help me get some kind of sleep.

LAVENDER. I love the scent of lavender essential oil. I’m pretty sure that’s why I gave this tea try in the first place. The soothing smell lavender combined with the warm liquid helps with relaxation, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. As someone who has struggled with depression in their pass, I love the idea of a tea that assists with that.

These four teas are my top favs to take a little edge off a stressful day. A good cup of tea can have many benefits. When you need to relax try a little quite time with one of these 4 staple worthy calming teas you should know. What’s your favorite calming tea? Do you like any of these?
