3 Ways to Strengthen Your Most Valuable Relationship

The most important relationship in the world is the one you have with yourself. Think about it. You are the only person that you truly know your entire existence. Sometimes in life we start to focus more on everything else and less on ourselves. Our relationships, our work, our lives, for instance, end up revolving around everything else with no room for ourselves. The last thing that you want is to take a look in the mirror and not recognize the person staring back at you. Let’s talk about taking care of your first and longest relationship. Here are 3 ways to strengthen your most valuable relationship.

Appearance. How we look isn’t everything. However, that does not mean that you should stop caring. There is nothing wrong with taking time to comb your hair, spray your favorite fragrance, and put your nicest fitted jeans, you know the ones that make everything look just right. That time and effort are all for you. It really is true that when you look good you feel good. In addition to, being amazing you deserve to look that way too.

Self-Date. After you get extra cute, have a little date with yourself. Plan a date to do whatever it is that you want to do. You don’t have to worry about anyone telling you that they don’t want to go or it’s not a good idea. For example, you can go see that movie that you can’t seem to get anyone to go to. Taking some time away from everyone to get your mind right and check in with yourself is perfectly okay. Maybe that’s exactly what you need to get yourself on track. You need alone time. So, plan your date and make sure that you look good enough to get your own number.

Bathroom Time. Out of the 3 ways to strengthen your most valuable relationship, bathroom time has to be my favorite, above all. Sometimes I just need a little time to be with myself, which isn’t a full self-date. You could take a nice soak, try new hairstyles, do your brows, for example. My favorite bathroom activity is playing music and trying new hairstyles. I grab my products, then I’m off to the loo. You may be asking “why the bathroom?” In my house, it is the only place that no one will try to barge in on you. No one really wants to bother someone they think might have their pants down. For all, they know the music they hear could be my poop playlist. Either way, my family would rather not try to find out. It usually has the biggest mirror also.

You are important! That’s why it is so important that you take time for yourself. Always make time for you. You don’t want to put so much time and energy into things and people that could be gone in a second. You will always be there for you. So, show yourself some love! You deserve it and so much more. How is your relationship with yourself? Do you take time for yourself? What’s your thought process?

  1. What a great take on self-care and spending time with yourself. Over the past couple of days, I spent a little time looking at life and what I valued. And I hadn’t noticed in the past 14 months how I had grown… what a difference time and experience make!

Nothing like a little alone time to reflect!

  2. Interesting angle on self-care. It’s not something I’ve seen people talking about. I love the idea in investing in yourself and putting yourself first
