Dating can be hard on its own. Then you have to add in the cost of going out with your partner. Especially, if you have someone who is high maintenance and expects to be picked up in a horse-drawn carriage. If you are dating one of those with not much in your pocket you might want to really think about if that’s a good financial move. But if you have someone who loves your company here are 6 ways to date while maintaining your budget.
1. Groupon. Groupon is nice because it gives you coupons on places near you. So you save a little gas and a little cash. Sounds good to me!
2. Picnicking. Now, this is a little old school. An oldie but goodie if you will. Maybe even a little vintage. Now, you don’t have to get the basket and everything, but a little effort goes a long way. Try taking a few scrolls on Pinterest. You can pack a playmate cooler on a summer or spring day with some of your favorite things. Snacking, listening to the birds, smelling the flowers, and looking at the butterflies can be a great inexpensive date.
3. Home Movie Night. Another classic. Movie night has been a great cheap date since the being. It’s sweet, it’s relaxed, and it’s cozy. Plus, you can skip the heels and dress cute and casual. Throw on your fav fitted jeans, get something to drink, turn on Netflix, and enjoy your company. You can also buy some cheap snacks for the grocery store to add to the fun.
4. Free Public Events. There are plenty of sites that can tell you what free events are in your city. For example, I went to a really cute lantern festival that I found in an article for things to do in Atlanta for free. There were plenty of food trucks to grab hot meals if you wanted. Even though there was food there, there were no rules against bringing your own.
5. Free Photo Shoot. Most people like taking pictures or at least don’t mind. There is something fun and sweet about taking pictures of someone you have eyes for. Also, those photos could turn into a cute gift later on. Being the subject of a photoshoot shot by your partner makes a person feel special. In those moments it’s like you are the only person in the world. You are the most important thing in the room and its free. Pack a few of your favorite outfits, choose a location, and start shooting.
6. Take A Walk. Taking a walk has its perks. I have found some of my favorite places just taking a walk around town. You never know what you will find so, let’s call it exploring. Maybe start downtown in your city, since that’s usually where the main attractions are. You can find cool street art, affordable places to eat, knick-knack shops, thrift stores, and all kinds of wonders. Plus, you get a good work out and create memories with your partner.
