How to Fix Your Mood with Color

Colors are a great way to express yourself. However, people sometimes forget how colors can affect your mood. Bright colors are great for perking up a mood since they tend to be cheerful and happy. Whereas dark colors, even though I love them, tend to give a feeling of being dreary or down. Here are a few colors to think about when learning how to fix your mood with color.

Purple is a great color to fix your mood. Besides being my favorite color, purple is also the color of royalty. Wearing the color makes me feel quite regal. It surrounds me with a sense of luxury. When I’m feeling a little down about having nothing but dust and moths in my pocket, I like to wear purple. This hue fills my imagination with thoughts of breakfast in Paris, week-long shopping sprees, and dinner by a private chef. Amethyst specifically is a color I always wear. It helps with depression and overall peace of mind. I have an Amethyst stone in a ring I wear every day and an amethyst crystal in my bag for good luck.

Pink is another amazing color to shake up your mood. Bright pink specifically represents playfulness, excitement, vibrant and etc. It’s the perfect color for a boring outfit or a blah attitude. Pink is a bold color to get you enthused about the day or event.  It’s the type of color that you add to spice things up. Because of its in your face brightness, bright pink can also stimulate your mind or promote high energy.

Yellow is another great for mood-stabilizing and is also one of my favorite colors. It is the type of color that you want around all the time. In my case, I have a yellow wallet. Even if I don’t pull my wallet out to use anything seeing the color in my bag makes me happy. It’s a little light at the end of the tunnel called my backpack. It’s the type of color you decorate your room in when you’re depressed. Yellow also helps with enlightenment, awareness, and friendliness. Whenever I wear yellow it puts me in a good mood.

There is a beautiful color representative for every mood. These are some colors that come to my mind when I think about brightening a mood.
